Elmaral Living Experience is a unique brand new "Adults Only" property, situated on a very privileged location just 200m from the sandy beach of Agia Pelagia, one of the most popular places of the island during the summer. Our desire was to create a beautiful and comfortable place, and design rooms that offer privacy and isolation and they are ideal for couples who wish to relax and spend their summer holidays to a friendly and peaceful environment. AGIA PELAGIA, A HOLIDAY SEASIDE RESORT Agia Pelagia is a seaside resort, once a traditional fishing village, built in the centre of a picturesque amphitheatric bay. Agia Pelagia is located on the north coast of Crete at 23 km northwest from Heraklion and it’s 26.7 km from the international airport of Heraklion and 23 km from the ferry port. It takes its name from the homonymous church, in the Monastery of the Sebbathians, ruins of which are found at a distance of 1 km west of the village. In the village you can find many taverns, offering traditional but also international dishes, bars, cafes, shops and boutiques, which will invite you to short walks through the little streets. DISTANCE AND DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORTS Heraklion Airport N. Kazantzakis: 29 min (26.7 km) drive via Vorios Odikos Axonas Kritis/E75 Chania International Airport Ioannis Daskalogiannis: 1 hr 58 min (127 km) via Vorios Odikos Axonas Kritis/E75 THINGS TO SEE AND DO Surrounded by mountains and hills, Agia Pelagia is located right in the middle of Crete, which makes it easy to be used as a base for tours and excursions around Crete. With about 9 smaller sandy and rocky beaches (apart from the central bay) reached easily by feet for those who prefer more space and privacy rather than big / busier beaches. From Agia Pelagia you can visit the post-minoan graves and the University (Pritanion) of the 4th century B.C. which were found in 1970 at the site Kladistos (or Kladotos/Kladissos) and support the view that this was the site of the ancient city of Apollonia. Worth visiting is also the nearby cave (chapel), with the name "Evresi", where - according to legend, local people found the icon of Agia Pelagia (Santa Marina). Near Agia Pelagia you will find several interesting places to visit: Top attractions *Koules - Rocca a Mare Fortress (12.3 km) *Heraklion Archaeological Museum (12.7 km) *Venetian Walls of Heraklion (12.7 km) *The Palace of Knossos (17.3 km) More attractions *El Greco Museum (5.7 km) *Natural History Museum of Crete (11.7 km) *Historical Μuseum of Crete (12 km) *Morosini Fountain (12.3 km) *Municipal Art Gallery (12.3 km) *Loggia (12.3 km) *The traditional villages of Achlada, Fodele, Rogdia, Anogia up to the highest mountain of Crete Idi (also called "Ida" or "Psiloritis" - 2.456 m high).
